Disclaimer: I have great respect for most medical professionals. Physicians, registered nurses, surgeons, pathologists, etc. Risking your life to help protect others. It's a noble and life-saving career choice.

That said, I honestly and personally believe vaccinations are somewhat of a joke. Usually every year, I get my flu shot. I've been up-to-date on all vaccinations, immunizations, shots, etc. Except Covid-19. This will probably be the first one I probably won't get. Maybe I'll get it. Don't know. Unless I'm forced to get it by my employer to return to office, county, state, or country to get it in order to travel or do anything, I probably won't get it. Maybe I will. Who knows.

The reason why I'm so indecisive is because its a gamble if it'll work, if it'll do the job it's supposed to do. Every year, despite getting the flu shot, guess what happens, I get sick with the flu. It knocks me on my ass for a week or more. I am, in recent years, in much better physical shape than I have ever been in. I don't have a weak or compromised immune system. Still, I get sick with the flu. "But it's just a mutated form of the virus that didn't match the exact structure of the flu shot you received. That's why you're sick."

You're right, so why get the flu shot at all? Why get yourself injected with a vaccination if literally the doctors and biologists will tell you that these shots will not prevent you from getting sick, it just lowers your chances? Decrease of spread to safeguard others from getting sick. Not you - others. And even if they get sick, its just an "oh, that sucks. well, we tried, sorry." And even if you do get vaccinated, there's always the chance your body was already sick and non-symptomatic so it could already be fighting the illness so you could get even sicker with the vaccination, which is why the medical professionals will ask you if you're symptomatic before getting the shot.

That said, I respect the choices of everyone who get vaccinations. I just haven't made up my mind on if I will. That said, I ask you respect my current choice or belief. You may not agree with it, but respect the opinion and choice. It doesn't affect you. You don't know me, personally. You'll probably never meet me in person. Please respect my decision and stance, the same way people would respect your decision to eat meat, smoke marijuana, or to watch anime. You enjoy these things. I don't enjoy or find interest in these, but I respect your choices. They're just not for me.

I probably won't be responding to my opinion, much like the other topic. If you feel compelled to talk to me about it or try to reason with me, send it via DM. I have notifications turned off.
