These are some of the ones I plan to sell. Is there some recommended web site that makes it easy to check what the value of some of these would be? Also, is there any way to find out whether some of the cards I would consider random are super valuable?

Edit: Just realized the images of the 3 cards actually fit together

Pretty much all of these. I believe the Ancient Mew was a movie promo card. My cousin and I went to see the movie and they just had a bunch of them sitting out in a stack. So, we decided to grab a bunch of them. I believe I used to have 9 of them but I gave most of them away for some reason.

Holographic Gyarados, another holographic Venusaur, Pokemon The First Movie versions of Electabuzz, Mewtwo,Pikachu, and Dragonite. I'll also get rid of the Mew and Mewtwo cards if they're valuable, but I have no idea.

Yeah that's not even remotely close. Pending condition it might fetch $100. You can pick up nm/lp versions for $25-50 on ebay.

If it really sells for that much, I'd be ecstatic. I'm gonna go through the process of getting them rated once I get past all of the fees from breaking my apartment lease.

You aren't breaking triple digits with anything that isn't base set first edition and at least a 7/10

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm not sure how they'll rate, but I'll eventually have it done and see where they stand.

That Blastoise and Venusaur might fetch you some good money if they are in mint condition.
Everything else you can probably expect between 5 to 50 bucks

If you can see visual creases or imperfections don't bother. Don't know the cost but you pay per card for ratings and they take a while to come back. Here's a video on it.

OK. I'll eventually see where they stand with the rating process. I just wish it didn't take so long to get them back.

the starter holos should be the biggest values, but even the commons add up. last i knew, though, the japanese cards are significantly less sought/valuable than english.

still, should be into the triple digits unless they are completely destroyed. not bad for a random find.

as for pricing... tcgplayer is usually a good place to start, and ebay to confirm numbers that seem too high. if you make a seller account on tcgp, you can see last sold values, which is the number you want. otherwise, you can only see what people are trying to get, not what people are actually paying. so, ebay completed listings if you don't want to make a seller account should get you close.

remember, though, condition is extremely important on the valuable cards. creases are automatically the lowest category. edge wear and foil cracking usually drop you down a couple categories, too.

Yeah it's nothing to scoff at. The Venusaur and Blastoise could be your 2 heavy hitters if they graded high. If they're in good shape you can probably get 40-50 each ungraded all day.

The Zapdos and Moltres I've seen for 60ish to 90.

The 2 pre-release dark gyarados are about $25.

The other holos you can get for around $10-$20 each minus the japanese ones. Some people value them less and some value them the same/more so it depends on the market.

Commons and non holos range from a couple of cents to a couple of dollars.

The mew with the palm tree on the front page I think goes for 60 in Japanese and 80 in English but I haven't checked in a while.

all the card graders are completely overwhelmed right now. The time and money costs are very high, and only really worth it for cards that have big bonuses for high grades. if you're not experienced with grading enough yourself, find a hobby shop that's open and see if they can help you.

You need to set your expectations low. You need excellent condition and first editions to be worth serious money. It doesn't appear that many of them are first edition, so you're probably looking at a couple bucks for most.

A few of them might get into the $50 range, but only if they are mint.

Vintage pokemon market has really exploded. Tons of cards I was picking up for literal pennies a couple years ago now go for 10-50 bucks.

Others have pretty much nailed what your valuable cards are. But due to the spike in value, I've been seeing some of those holo starters sell for a couple hundred in what used to be considered worthless condition (PSA 6)

This. Since COVID lockdowns, the resale market for everything has blown up. The XY Charizard picked up for <$10 in maybe 7/10 condition in 2018, pretty much considered "not the real Charizard", has a stupid asking price now. And half the equation is the market is inflated, with a bunch of wannabe resellers piling in.

I looked through my childhood cards a few months ago myself. So many in poor condition, even the ones in the binder. I've got some first ed, some Italian base set cards idk how I got them, a bunch of rares. The saddest card I have is this:

https://www.tcgcollector.com/cards/199/celebi-skyridge-145-144

Apparently Skyridge was the last set by WOTC and therefore the least popular set. I don't even know how I got this Celebi, it's apparently the rarest in the set. But here is the status of my card...

Nothing outpaces the insane growth of pokemon cards. Not even my summer 2019 yolo into Tesla stock. Would've been better off yoloing the poke back then.
