It'll help save the planet and cost far less money in the long run. Literally the only people against it are people in fossil fuels and other industries that make money off pollution.

There are plenty of arguments against it. Saving money in the long run is a dangerously selfish point to bring up to the families in rural WV who cant feed their families after the mine shuts down and those energy jobs move hundreds of miles away and every single business in town withers away.

humans are absolute shit at looking at far future effects for our current choices, we're really good at seeing the immediate effects. its why the argument that we're going to make the planet much harder for our future children to survive on means shit all to most people and isn't a compelling political motivator, it inconveniences us now...

Im saying right now, as we're having this discussion, that YES, THERE ARE MANY REASONS FOR PEOPLE TO NOT WANT TO MOVE TOWARDS ZERO EMISSIONS. Youre acting like the argument against it is that polluting is fun or something. You have to have support in place before you can even start talking about ripping out the foundations these communities are built upon. This hasnt happened time and time again, so obviously theres gonna be pushback when the fix is supposedly "Government will help you out.....yknow....eventually".
