I'm traveling to see family for 5 days but i'm getting a hotel by myself. I want to bring my PC with me. I can fit my PC and gaming keyboard, mouse and cables etc in the suitcase but monitor wont fit so thinking of just buying a 144hz monitor at a nearby best buy when I get there. Just wondering if they will care if its checked or carryon?

I don't think so, Tim.

As someone who works at a airport and I bring my Laptop plus accessories in every day, you should be fine. Depending on the size of it TSA might take a look at it but depending on the machine they might not. Basically as long as it fits inside a suitcase that isn't too big you're fine.

Can you not survive with a smartphone for 5 days? Or is this work-related?

Am I missing an inside joke here

Your shit is gonna get wrecked inside a suitcase even if you're carrying it unless you handle it like a baby the entire time

I've taken laptops and consoles no problem. I'm sure it's fine.

I think checked in luggage will be a better option overall and make sure it's very padded. But honestly yeah this seems like a lot of hassle for 5 days.
