Depends on if it's an angiosperm or a gymnosperm.

Definitely not. Primary growth cannot happen through the side of a stump.

Which tree has the worst bark.
Ironwood has a hell of a tough bark that can only be beaten off during the spring and summer. They make fantastic cutting boards, though.

what if it was stripped of bark post-cauterization

That's exposing the vascular cambium, which produces the rings and diameter growth (secondary growth). That'll make certain it doesn't recover.

Do you believe tone woods such as ebony affect the tone of magnets on an electric guitar?

Lots of debate on that.. I mean the magnets are mounted onto wood but the pickups (the microphone for the strings) only pick up the electromagnetic field

I guess Im asking whether or not the wood can affect that field >_>

Im inclined to say yeah but lots of people are like nah it doesnt in the guitar world <_<

Wood has no magnetic qualities, so it shouldn't effect the tone at all on an electric guitar.

Dead phloem cells, mostly. And not technically, but it's also dead tissue.

We just call those forks lol. I haven't heard them called a clooney yet, but I don't have my degree, so I can't speak as a pro.

Petrification is a result of the organic matter in wood being slowly replaced by outside minerals. Takes millions of years to happen, too. I have a pretty good chunk of it lol. As far as I know, rocks can't become wood. I'm no geologist, though.

Sprouts are just germinated seeds. Seedlings are about a foot or two, depending on their crown to root ratios, and trees are seedlings that have taken hold of their microsites and are actively outcompeting surrounding vegetation.
