what if it was stripped of bark post-cauterizationThat's exposing the vascular cambium, which produces the rings and diameter growth (secondary growth). Do you believe tone woods such as ebony affect the tone of magnets on an electric guitar?
Lots of debate on that.. I mean the magnets are mounted onto wood but the pickups (the microphone for the strings) only pick up the electromagnetic field I guess Im asking whether or not the wood can affect that field >_> Im inclined to say yeah but lots of people are like nah it doesnt in the guitar world <_< --- ... Is the gap between two branches really called a "clooney"?We just call those forks lol. I haven't heard them called a clooney yet, but I don't have my degree, so I can't speak as a pro. Fluttershy posted... what's the deal with petrified wood and can rocks turn to wood as well.Petrification is a result of the organic matter in wood being slowly replaced by outside minerals. Takes millions of years to happen, too. I have a pretty good chunk of it lol. As far as I know, rocks can't become wood. What are the defining characters that determine a trees maturity (e.g. sprout, sapling, tree)?Sprouts are just germinated seeds. Seedlings are about a foot or two, depending on their crown to root ratios, and trees are seedlings that have taken hold of their microsites and are actively outcompeting surrounding vegetation. --- "If you cannot explain it simply, you do not understand it well enough."-Albert Einstein ...
