I made a poll earlier. Kind of messed it up. I was wondering what you thought about Pokemon introduced in that series. It was gen 1 vs gen 8, then the subject became Red/Blue vs Sword/Shield

are you talking about the games, the Pokmon in each gen specifically, or what? Because with games you have the OG ones, FR/LG, Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee. You gotta flesh out your terms more then remake this topic.

I'm going to remake it under this premise. This is about the Pokemon introduced in each generation. Artistic design, use in battle, whatever you choose.

I don't know about remakes, under this new poll... since there's been gen 4 remakes of gen 2, all that stuff. Your call. Maybe you can all help me out there. Were the Pokemon significantly changed within the remakes? How so?

Gen 5 dex is the shittiest excuse of a batch of new Pokemon. Immensely trash starters, contains the literal least popular Pokemon according to an official 2016 poll (Simisear), arguably the worst and most bland starting bird. Literal trash and literal ice cream, Pokemon named after clothing.

Gen 4 has Smash representation (Lucario plus a Dialga/Palkia stage), one of the best starter trio, meme god (Bidoof) and actual god (Arceus), DELELELE WOOOOP.

Yes gen 5 has Hydreigon/Haxorus/etc and gen 4 has Lumineon/Mothim/etc, but there's no excuse.

Gen 5 is one of the best batches of Pokemon in the series. Yeah, it does have its stinkers, but what gen doesn't? Overall, it was very good.

Gen 4 has Staraptor, Luxray, Garchomp, great starter lines, Rampardos, Vespiquen, Gastrodon, Lucario, and some nice looking evolutions to older pokemon.

Gen 5 is pretty great too, but it wasn't giving new great mons from the very beginning to the end.

Gen 5 is honestly one of the better ones. Better than 2, 6, 7 and 8 for sure.

Gen 5 has some unique and interesting designs but ultimately is one of the weaker dex in general imo. Their are a lot of rehashes of Gen 1 pokemon such as boufflant, which I still like btw, and some trash ones like Unzefant. The starters are mediocre besides Snivy line and is further brought down by the fact Emboar is another fire/fighting. The legendaries outside of the main trio are honestly goofy looking. The geneis are all identical to each other until their Therian formes. The Muskateers aren't too much to write home about although Terrakion is cool. Their are some great designs like Hydreigon, Chandelure , Reunicleus and others but overall I feel like its on the weaker side overall.

So many of Gen 4's are unmemorable to the point I thought they were new when I saw them in later gens.
