Wife just got the second shot of Moderna.

Symptoms include: Slight fever, Headaches, Chills when trying to sleep, Arm that she got the shot is killing her and can barely raise it at all.

I got the Pfizer shot for both shots. Both times my arm got sore, but no worse than any other shot I've gotten before. Only real difference in terms of side effects was the morning after my second shot, I had very minor body aches (like when you're just barely getting sick), but those dissipated by the afternoon.

Not looking forward to it (will almost certianly be Pfizer - I live in NZ which has chosen to basically go all-in on Pfizer).

But it still sounds better than catching covid, let alone spreading covid to others. I dunno - I almost feel like if it was proven to have no effect on transmission, I probably wouldn't take it. But signs are pointing in the opposite direction - that it very much helps cut transmission - so that's a very different picture, I'll definitely be getting it when I can.

Sounds about right. I remember popping some Aleve and just muscling through the day.

She got it 10:30am, didn't really start to feel sick until the evening.

I slept all day after my second Moderna dose. I never do that. I was so tired I was tripping over my own feet.

Got my second Moderna shot yesterday. Had a pretty bad headache last night into today, though it's not as bad today. Arm pain is less than after the first shot.

Ive had both Pfizer shots, and both times I experienced a sore arm like a flu shot. I was really tired the next day, but Im always really tired by Friday, so its hard to say the shot was the culprit. Otherwise I was totally fine. (Im 47, btw.)

It's gonna be some time before I can get a shot. My state just opened it up to everyone 16 and older as of last Wednesday. They also only do appointments the day of, and only during the day, and I work overnight. I'm going to wait until it's not such a hassle to deal with getting one. I've been an essential worker this whole time so I feel like a little bit longer will not hurt.

2nd pfizer fucked me up. fever, body aches, headache

So my second shot gave me a painfully weak and sore arm for 2 days. My girlfriend has been exhausted and weak for 4 days. I saw her last night and she looked like awful, and this was the first day she even remotely felt up to hanging out.

My second dose of Pfizer only caused mild arm pain, I had much more the first time. The nurse told my to let my arm hang down and it worked. the first dose I rested it on the table. I had a little fatigue the next day but no fever.

Had my first dose of Pfizer yesterday. My arm is sore but thats it so far. No different than the tdap shot I had to take a couple of months ago. My arm hurt for a week with that.

2nd dose is in 3 weeks so Ill see what thats like then.

First Pfizer: sore arm for two days, tiredness a few hours after the shot. Nothing else.

Second Pfizer: sore arm for two days, tiredness a few hours after the shot. Next day, I was lethargic, and around 5:30 PM, I had chills and body aches. Ended up sleeping off and on for 14 hours.

Both doses were administered between 4:30 and 5 PM both days.

Had my second shot around 5 yesterday. Woke up to a headache just now, will report

How I understand it, the sore arm is not a side effect. It's a sign your body is building up an immune response to the shot and is intended to work that way

Is it true that you shouldn't take any OTC pain reliever or fever reducer medication during these symptoms? That it may reduce effect of the vaccine or is that just hearsay?

The sheet I got when I got my vaccine says it's fine to take pain relievers.

EDIT: "For side effects take acetaminophen or ibuprofen as advised by your care provider. You can apply an ice pack to a sore arm." is the actual line from the info sheet

Christ, what's wrong with you peoples' immune systems?

I'm 28, type 1 diabetic, and I didn't have nearly as bad a time with my second shot (in fact I wouldn't even call it a bad time at all).

Fuck this second shot of Pfizer. I can't get rid of this fever. I had some body aches and chills but they went away, just can't get my temperature out of the 99s even with medication.

I'm fine now, second shot symptoms lasted about two days total for me but they sucked, was pretty much stuck in bed.
