It would have made no sense. The zombies were made out to be nothing more than monsters for the whole movie, so making them seem human at the end is stupid.

it seems to me that people who like the theatrical ending are the ones who went in expecting some generic post-apocalyptic zombie movie

as such, they tend to ignore the "they have intelligence" hint drops like the zombies moving the mannequins around to fuck with him or, you know, setting up a fucking trap that he falls into

Im less desensitized to seeing dogs killed, so it hits me harder. I refuse to kill dogs in any game I don't have to. Even when they're aggressive by training. But we been killing people in games and watching them die thousand times over in movies since we were lil boppers.

Being less desensitized to seeing dogs die doesn't mean you'd save a dog over a person tho.
