I do moderate work outs but around this time of the year my sciatic kicks in and it's very annoying.
Would you recommend I keep working out and dealing with the pain? I can take ibuprofen for the pain. --- Know your enemy & know yourself Invest in y0urs3lf first ... Copied to Clipboard!

Back pain is no joke. Don't fuck it up more.
Do exercises that either don't use your back or depending on your exact issue, strengthens it. See a professional first if you're looking to strengthen it. --- PSN: Jiek ... Copied to Clipboard!

My routine is situps, pushups and I use a 10lbs dumbbell. I stopped doing situps cause the pain is intense around my left hip. I normally get this issue with my hip when doing situps.

I like to walk for exercise, but I haven't in a few weeks because of hip pain. Last week I asked my orthopedic surgeon when I saw him about my finger, and he said I probably sprained my gluteus maximus.

My doctor who seems unwise said to keep exercising. At this point I might as well only do stretches and go for walks.

Yeah, ditch the sit ups if they're causing issues for sure. Honestly, stretches probably would help strengthen your back but without knowing the issues it's probably not a good plan to just try some.
Try and make an appointment with a physical therapist. They'll probably just print out an infographic with stretches, but it'll give you a direction where you won't hurt yourself more and have a shot at proper recovery. You'll probably be able to continue doing most any lifts that you'd use the 10lbs weights for. --- PSN: Jiek ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'll see how I feel by June then book an appointment with a physio therapist. I'll stick with push ups and dumbell come mid May and see how i feel.

Can you at least walk and use something light like a 20lb dumbbell? It's not ideal but still good to keep your basic form intact.

Once a week do back exercises, preferably deadlifts and pull-ups. Maybe do Pilates and yoga for it too?
Dont do any excercises that trigger pain. You will make things worse for yourself. ... Copied to Clipboard!
