Since the beginning Republicans were slandering pieces of shits. They published fake news in newspapers, they called federalist, monarchists. These days they have fox news and call all progressives, communists.

The exact same dirty tactics they are doing now they did back then since the first presidency.

I think you're confusing the Republican Party (emerged in the years before the Civil War) with the Democratic-Republican Party (existed in the time of Federalists).
