Hell in a Cell is in 2 weeks and still the only matches confirmed are Lashley vs McIntyre, Ripley vs Charlotte, and Belair vs Bayley

After last night's SD, your guess is as good as mine for the Universal title match. Reigns vs Rey? Reigns vs an Uso? Reigns takes the night off? Only time will tell!

Rollins vs Fiend was basically the point the HIAC match concept lost its appeal. What used to be a match type that either guaranteed great matches and/or cool moments 20 years ago had become arguably unwatchable due to the lighting and ended terribly in a DQ despite weapons being legal throughout its history solely to keep both competitors strong which killed off Rollins' babyface run and was ultimately worthless thanks to Wyatt losing to Goldberg several months later.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but whenever WWE releases someone, technically they're letting them know their contract will be terminated in 90 days.

So is that why Samoa Joe is in NXT? Because he was supposedly let go in April but since it hasn't been 90 days, they basically just changed their minds and Joe didn't have a choice because he was still under contract?

I dont think we know the details yet, but if he signed a new deal as a non-wrestler because he cant get cleared, it would probably be much cheaper for WWE. The upside for Joe is that it would classify him as an employee and make him eligible for benefits and such.

If hes back to wrestle, then they probably worked out a deal to where after his 90 days he will shift to a cheaper deal.

He definitely had a choice though. What are they gonna do if he declines, fire him? Fired people still get their downside during their non-compete unless they are fired with cause

Also to read between the lines a bit, I notice that almost none of the Nick Khan era firings are NXT people. My guess is that Trips has an NXT budget that they allow him work with without too much interference, and he thought letting Joe go was a mistake, so he found room for him

And actually technically this is wrong yeah. When they release you, you are no longer under contract, you are just bound to the post-release guidelines of not wrestling for anyone else in exchange for 90 more days of downside pay.

But youre free to do whatever else without WWE approval. The IIconics started a podcast, Aleister Black is all over the place blabbing about his relationship with Vince and creative, doing Twitch, etc. All things people still actually under contract cannot do without approval.
