Before "Columbus" Haiti was a nice place to live. My mind boggles every time with the abject poverty on half an island blessed by nature and with a 10,000 year history of being a nice place to live. My mind also boggles every time a fellow American who is fighting to have democracy in America gets mired down in White Privilege.
So Haiti, meaning the enslaved, had this bloody revolution for freedom lead - not by enslaved - lead by not enslaved but African-descended. The new leaders just sold them out to poverty. This last boggles my mind even more than all of the above. You have a revolution. You win the revolution. Then ? you ... give up? I suppose that having gotten rid of white privilege that they lived happily every after (in abject poverty). --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... basically all of Haiti's problems now stem from them not killing enough slave owners during and after their revolution Absurd amounts of corruption in the government is a major issue. They also get tied down by the amount of charity they are handed. Many small business owners get put out of business since free clothing/food gets handed out on the regular. Hard to compete with free. Charity is great for helping those in need, but not so much for creating a sustainable economy. --- LoL IGN: MsRaffensperger ~Dennis~ ... Copied to Clipboard!

This might give you the beginning of an answer: @Crono99 NO. DUH! That is my question (I read that stupid wikipedia article long ago). They revolted and then let leaders stay in power who see above. --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... Haiti's first problem and last problem is having leaders who are part of the ruling class. Know your class interest.

The current leadership in Haiti are US installed puppets. When Haiti had more independent leaders they were doing better. Currently the Haitian people have been having uprisings to get the current leadership out

See? The only reason the American Revolution worked is that an American could go west and "find" land. Under the British this was not possible on account of treaties between Britain and France and France and the indigenous people.
After losing the war the British were all *wink, wink* We have no control over them [The 13 Colonies]. They beat us militarily due to superior strategy *wink, wink* --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... Didn't white countries back then refuse to trade with Haiti after revolution? white countries? (SERIOUSLY? lmao) At that time all refusing to trade meant is that the country-refusing-to-trade had an excuse to seize ships that came into port to trade. Most likely most of the seized ships were not from Haiti. Sucks to have owned the ships that got seized. --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ... So what exactly were all those countries that refused to trade with Haiti after its revolution? Who ruled and dominated those countries? You have to think for yourself. Current Chicago mayor is Lori Lightfoot. Previous Chicago mayor was Rahm Emanuel. Grow up. There is no difference in their leadership. And to answer your demand. I already answered that refusing to trade had nothing to do with trade. --- GoldenSun/Crossbone Isle diagrams/ 18 teams known https://photobucket.com/u/SwordOfWheat/a/9990a2ee-25f3-4242-ae79-7d2d4b882be4 ...
