Current Events > Can someone explain Falcon and Winter Soldier to me? (SPOILERS)

I skipped a few of the MCU films and I dont know these characters very well.

Couple questions:

1. What was the relationship between Cap and Falcon that led to Cap wanting him to take up the mantle?
2. Winter Soldier is basically a super soldier like Cap, right? Was he hypnotized by someone that made him do bad stuff? Who created him/gave him the super serum?

he met Captain America in Winter Soldier, had a pretty good relationship with each other, and Cap found out Sam was part of some flying unit, and Sam ended up helping out (it's been a while, so I don't remember most of the details).

so while Sam wasn't necessarily Cap's protegee, he was another soldier who had a similar worldview.

and for number 2, iirc, it was Hydra.

Bucky still had some of the programming at the end of Civil War, or something, but he found help in Wakanda and had been living there for a while.

1. They met during the winter soldier, as said similar values. Sam helped in taking down the heli carrier. In age of ultron sam became an avenger and they went on missions together. After civil war steve and sam were fugitives together.

2. I believe in the first avenger the short hydra scientist gave bucky something when he was captured. Then when he fell off the train he survived due to that serum as steve theorized years later in winter soldier. Once captured he was further experimented on

if you dont know the answer to those Qs, just go back and watch them all or skip falcon and winter soldier

Also note that the second place that he met Sam was when Sam was leading a PTSD meeting, and then at the beginning of Endgame he was the one leading the sessions about the blip. So you could tell it was something that he really respected Sam for doing
