Not a vaccine

I live in canada. We've had the most pathetic roll out of the vaccine out of basically any country.

Last I checked we were sitting at about 2.3 million doses being given. Which is pathetic.

That only protects you for about 2 months then you can get it again. So...

I'm in Newfoundland, and it seems like we're getting A LOT more vaccines in proportion to our population vs. the west (BC in particular). I could be wrong though, I don't follow the news too closely. A lot of our population is also elderly, but I guess when you compare roughly 500k to 5 million, the number of elderly in BC would outweigh that of my province

Last I heard, it won't be generally available here until the beginning of next month. I think the rest of my immediate family got theirs, but my parents are old people and my brother has underlying conditions.

I live in an area with a very old population and so far here you have to be 90, or 65 and indigenous, or a Healthcare worker to even get considered.

My area is doing... poorly... but we're definitely better than the coastal health region whove vaccinated less people by far despite the much greater population.

I'd be shocked if I have the opportunity to get the vaccine much before the end of the year. I dont get how were fucking up distribution so badly.

My mom has had a rough time even a week after taking the first dose. Her coworker's husband died after taking his though he was also sick with the virus. We're a bit nervous about our stepdad taking the vaccine at this point.

That may be true in some cases, I dont really know... but I know the general consensus is you've got 2 months before being at risk again and they have seen people get it a second time just two months after recovery. Though it's rare.

that's only for a small percentage of users though, kinda how even with the vaccine a certain small percentage of people can still get covid. that's why the vaccines are 95% effective and not 100%

generally recovering from covid will give you similar protection as vaccines iirc
