I don't think anyone is in any doubt that that's some people's motivations for bashing grannies over the head on the sidewalk, they're just discussing how astronomically stupid it is

Historically, this is consistent with human behavior during major pandemics. Whenever a specific group is thought to be associated with a disease, that group gets violently attacked. It's a relic of our monkey brains.

I don't think it has much to do with criticism of the Chinese government specifically. It shot up after the pandemic because it's related to the pandemic and follows the pattern of pandemic related violence. Our media and government already saw and portrayed China as an enemy before the pandemic.

Its fear that causes these attacks. The public attacks are by folks who are unable to communicate to each other as fellow americans & resort to violence acts towards the perceived threat.

Certain folks have unfairly associated it with asians & will continue to target fellow americans regardless. Ignorance and intolerance have narrowd their minds to action because of their fear. The threats are everywhere you go & youre powerless to stop it.

Communities fail to promote and encourage positive, open, & shared dialogue with each other. We keep separated and to our own kind. Our leaders depend on local authority and their communities. It really shows how out of touch everybody has been with each other. As long as people only have support for their own colors, this cycle of fear anger hate suffering will continue.

yes. you dont need to be a trump supporter to be ijfkuencrd. I have friends and family who are liberal, but condone trump's behavior with labeling covid-19 as the "chyna virus."

Whats funny is that my work is full of old Asian ladies on the other side of the building. My section (primarily white people) got hit with covid first so they blocked us off with plastic barriers.
