I'd say God the "Father" was the first mind to ever exist, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit probably coming after that. Just my two cents though since the text itself doesn't spend much time talking about the trinity, let alone which if any of them is "older" than the others. From what I know about the Bible, I could probably put together a case for God the Father being the "oldest" of the three.

But, but, but God resides in infinity! How then can his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, have come after him? There can't be a beginning or an ending where there was no beginning or and or no end...*explodes*

And I've seen you post in Shab's topics at least a dozen times in the past week on various topics <_<

This is false. I had a somewhat sizable but not particularly long exchange with you (in terms of post count. I know I made several long posts in the exchange) in one topic that he made and in that same topic, went after Rebel (on his alt) because he was running his fucking dirty lying mouth at me and then I peaced out when he did a goalpost move and I never went back to that topic and never will go back to it, even if it is still active like a week or so later. I believe you and I encountered one another elsewhere as well, but it was in a teep topic, not a Shab topic.

After how many trillions of years do beginnings fade as a memory or in relevance? I don't know the answer to how this would work to be honest. The best I can do at this time is to explain how I view the Trinity and why it's logical / non-contradictory when viewed that way. I'd have to think about the ramifications of "infinity" and what they'd mean for beginnings or age.

Maybe God the Father is the one who has always existed and is just to Jesus what our IRL selves are to our digital avatars in videogames? This could be another angle from which technology gives us a metaphor or a sense in which the trinity could be explained.

And that's about as many times as I've posted a link to the Kardashev scale :P

Love that book. I remember there was part in a chapter that briefly talked about the horrible treatment we subject animals to, during our transition to the agricultural beings (rather than hunter-gatherers). That section was so brutal and made me tear up and rethink my life.

we are right on the edge of some rapid disruptions that will solve that problem and allow us to let nature reclaim a lot of the planet

national parks? how about international parks spanning entire continents :)

I'll post it whenever it's directly relevant to the point I'm making. Until it is commonly understood that technology changes how one would have to interpret the world's religions.

....Idk if im too stupid to get it or too smart to get it, but I don't get how this does anything to atheists. This image proves nothing...it's just words somebody wrote and made an image of.

The Earth has been here for over four billion years and humans around 300,000...with all of the history that entails you guys still can't provide a shred of proof your god exists. Actually forget proof, I still haven't even seen any strong evidence.

It's a tongue-in-cheek jab at the kind of people who say things like the topic title unironically.

I think TC was either joking or trying to offer an explanation for the trinity's perceived self-contradiction, by using graph theory or something. I personally don't approach the trinity that way though.

Anyway, what is your take on probabilistic arguments? What do you estimate is the probability that intelligent beings other than ourselves have put probes into deep space? or even learned how to travel across the cosmos?

Why should atheists bother trying to explain it when most Christians can't explain it either?

I'd be interested in knowing where you believe it fails to be compelling at all. Are you of the view that neural laces will not exist? Or is it something else
