Yes as the idea that T- rex huntdown humans is fiction.
So why did T-rex need to go bye bye?

lacking evidence.

Sure you could dig up some bones and put them in a formation. But think about how many different formations they could have found if they just thought about it differently.

Actually yes I do think they would probably still be around.
65 Million years ago isn't that long, and they had already been around for much longer than that.

And as stated, they never fully went extinct.

No probably not.
They were the completely dominant life force of their time. They lived for at least 150 million years, we would have been shitty snacks to them.

Meanwhile, we're over here, just 12,000 years out of the ice age and we're fucking things up for ourselves on our own.
There is a pretty good chance we might not have been the best big-brained experiment.
I think the sun has at least another Billion years in it, so we'll see what happens next.

Definitely not. The only reason why mammals ever evolved beyond tiny rodents is because the dinosaurs (and other dominant lifeforms like pterosaurs and mosasaurs) disappeared and left ecological niches open for the mammals to fill. And even then, it took mammals a while to get their act together. I'm pretty sure that birds and reptiles were the dominant lifeforms right after the dinosaurs died out.

Eh, I'm not sure. Plenty of dinosaur fossils have been found in areas that would've had an arctic climate, even back then.

The OP's very question is absurd.

Obviously completely altering the path of evolution on a planet would mean that no, humans, and basically anything else beyond a certain timeframe from the event, would not evolve.

I don't believe an asteroid killed the dinosaurs. It made sense when I was a child. As an adult, it sounds like a wizard casting a magic spell.

Any asteroid entering our solar system which is large enough to be a global killer would be snatched up by Jupiter's gravitational pull. So it couldn't have been that.

The answer is probably something much more mundane. Alpha predators destroyed the food chain, diseases passed from dinosaur to dinosaur, the climate changed naturally and dinosaurs had to evolve into birds or die out.

That sounds like nonsense. Not that Jupiter doesn't do that, but the idea that it's impossible for anything to slip by.

Hmm...

It sounds like we need to conduct a scientific experiment. Let's hurl a giant rock at the Earth and find out. The advancement of human knowledge demands it.

So what are the giant impact craters on earth from then? Also asteroids pass by earth all the time. It's not hard to believe some would hit us over billions of years.

Not one that's large enough to wipe out more than 80% of life on this planet.

With the dinosaurs still around, mammals likely would not have evolved to cover the niches that the dinosaurs left behind IRL, which means that humans would not have evolved, either.
