It took like three-four months for Trump to distribute any amount of aid and that was with his delusional supporters STILL fighting it.

Because they still need enough votes for it to pass. Back then Dems were fine with it because the people needed it. Republicans were fine with it because it was a win for them. Now the Republicans cant let the Dems get a win without demanding concessions and throwing in a bunch of other bull shit so theyre holding shit up in the name of politics.

People are suffering, Democrats have the senate & presidency, what is the hold up? Most people support the stimulus checks, what is the hold up?

It would be unpopular for Republicans to vote against the stimulus check, theyre not all going to vote against it especially if theyre up for re-election. So what is the hold up?

Biden promised the checks would go out right away, what is the hold up?

Just $2000 by itself would be axed by the Republicans, unless maybe we added in some tax cuts for corporations and protected them if they fire people for getting sick/injured on the job.

the 600 went out because the GOP wanted to keep georgia.

the 1400 hasn't gone out because the unemployment insurance bonus didn't end until mid march. Hey look we're setting up to pass this bill just before mid march. and even with that, corporations will still be getting 2-4x what people get. Because both parties have no desire in helping people. And both parties know you won't remember fuckall about this in 2 years when midterm elections come around.

there's 48 democrats and 2 independents that vote democrat and a democrat vp for tie breakers. it's not republicans holding it up. Same as when people try to blame how shit ACA is on republican when it passed without a single republican vote.

democrats gain nothing by passing the bill 2 months ago, outside of now 2 months later people would be going when do we get another 600/1200/2000 dollars!!! claim it's about people out of work and conveniently forget that the unemployment increase is actually for those people.

The "rider" process needs a rethink.

A "where money?" bill should be exactly that, not "here money, and also a couple hundred other things we've snuck in, and will bicker about and pick apart for months because we just have to make humongous bloated omnibus bills for some reason."

$2 trillion comes out to about $6500 per person. Yet, we're only seeing $1400 of that, and only if you're under some arbitrary income cutoff decided from your tax papers two years ago.

If there were 200 million eligible Americans for the stimulus/aid/whatever out of the 330 million population (there aren't), that would work out to 10,000 each.

People are maybe getting 1,400, as 2,000 would apparently be too much.

That works out around 1/8th of the total bill.

That leaves 8,600 for each of those 200 million that goes... where?

*just saw the post above mine, but same damn point.
