My luckiest/unluckiest moment ever in pokemon ended with a shiny ponyta.

Leaf green Safari Zone. Looking for a lucky egg. A shiny Venomoth appears, pale blue and awesome. I start freaking out, but chuck balls at it until it flees... I sat there for a moment before deciding to continue my egg hunt. Literally the next encounter... shiny Rhyhorn. At this point I was pretty annoyed/still freaking out. It fled too.

I got pretty upset at my luck and immediately left the safari zone. Went to one of those post game islands to level up a couple of times and quit. After a few minutes a shiny Ponyta(one of my most wanted) appeared. I decided to just toss the masterball and not test my luck. It ended up having the run away ability. I know it wouldn't have actually fled the battle, but having just lost 2 back to back it felt like the game was mocking me.
