What did you do to keep the sparks flowing? Or what did to alleviate the constant longing?

I've got at least a year and a half left in this current predicament and it makes time feel likes it's going by so slowly and I'm going mad.

She doesn't like watching movies much lol. Like, when I show her a movie she ends up liking and comments something like "maybe I do like movies, I just need to see the right ones." But getting her to watch a movie at home on her own, even if it's like a long distance date, is not her thing. I've been trying to get her to watch Nomadland because I know she'll like it, and she trusts my opinion and wants to see it, but she hasn't made time for it. She likes to spend her time outside in nature away from screens, which makes long distance a little difficult in terms of communication since we don't talk directly every day.

Only online. It never became real life for one reason or another. Still it was nice to do things on webcam, late night chat and stuff. Have you tried having a romantic dinner over zoom or something together? It can work for some.

Record or take pics of yourself going on walks or other nature stuff as she can too and send them each other.

Yeah, we don't have time for that. I also don't think it would be good for me right now. I have a tendency to develop co-dependent habits in relationships, so having a bit more space and distance gives me space to address and work on that.

I sent her money for sushi on Valentine's Day and we each got some at our respective locations. She had just moved to a new city, so she got to try a new place.

I regularly get pictures and descriptions of her hikes and adventures! Unfortunately for me I'm stuck in Las Vegas and my options are a bit more limited. There are some really nice desert hiking spots I want to explore though, and I know she'll appreciate pictures when I go! (we were supposed to go together a couple weeks ago but plans didn't work out lol)

I did for like... 8? months. The most important thing is setting an end date, I think. If you're working towards a hard goal and it's a matter of counting down the days it doesn't feel as daunting. Obviously visit each other IRL... though good luck with Covid restrictions on that one.
