Oh, and I get a 10% off coupon for signing up for Dell's dumb newsletter.

If I do buy it, I'll probably bump the price up to $1400 for just a 1TB SSD.

I'd personally get another stick of RAM

The option here is an extra $90 for a 16GB, 1x16Gb, DDR4, 2666Mhz.

I don't know a ton about this stuff as evidenced by this topic, but I feel like I could buy a cheaper one on its own. I don't think they're super difficult to install, right? Whereas mounting an extra SSD sounds like it could be a pain in the ass.

RAM isn't very good and it should have a bigger SSD, and you would probably need to buy more fans, because I doubt the airflow on the case is very good

Also, keep in mind that it probably wouldn't ship until like April.

It does say that. With all the GPU memes I've seen lately, I don't think I'm getting a decent one any sooner than that.

As for air flow, this is the back of the case

I'm pretty sure I found the PC, and it looks like it only has that rear exhaust fan. I'd get at least another one to use as intake.

What kind of PSU does it have? From that picture of the back of the case, it doesn't look like the typical size of one.

Yeah, instead I'd get another 8GB stick

I'd say SSDs and RAM are the same amount of effort, since you need access to the mobo for both

Bad ram (both options)
Bad psu because it's in a pre-built
Bad motherboard because it's in a prebuilt
Horrible case
Bad ssd size
Mediocre cpu for the price
Probably not even in stock

Always better off just building your own but you sound like you have no experience so idk how up to that you are

The RTX 3070 is sold out heavily due to mining scalpers and goes for nearly $1200 alone on Ebay. This prebuilt for 1170-1300 is a great deal if he wants to ensure he actually gets a PC.

RAM doesn't make much of a difference, and he can always replace the PSU and case later

Yeah, I thought about building my own both this time and the last time, but the crypto mining drove up the prices a ton. That just got worse with the recent shortages.

Think I might upgrade to the 1TB SSD and just go ahead and grab the extra stick of RAM. Be about 1400 with the 10% off.
