I'm guilty of doing this for sneezes but it don't just let it fly, I sneeze into my hoodie because I'd rather my shirt be covered in snot than the inside of my mask.

People do it because the mask makes it difficult to know what they are saying, if you get a better mask this is not a problem however a lot of people just use a cheap mask.

Try speaking up.
I've noticed that some people just speak too softly or mumble (especially grocery shop staff). Try to understand the possibility that it's slightly more difficult to understand people than usual with a mask on, because you don't see their lips move.

People might as well just wipe their ass with their mask if they're not going to wear it right. If I need to ask you to repeat yourself, it probably would have happened whether or not you had a mask. Either you're too quiet or I can't hear.

My job issued these 3 layer thick as hell masks. Comfortable provided it aint summer time. But it does muffle your voice some. I pull the mask out from my face just a tad. Its still over my nose and mother but the tiny opening allows the volume of my voice escape better. Now if im within 6 feet of ya I just speak up but my job requires me to speak up to 30 ppl at a time.

It does kill me how many people are such pansies about wearing one. I have to wear one about 12 and half hours a day. Sucked at first but now I sometimes forget its on my face. I was putting ketchup on my burger at work one day got some on my fingers and instinctively went to pick my finger. Smeared ketchup on my mask.

So wearing one for a 30 minute venture into walmart seems like nothing

Nah bro, I think the implication is "figure out how to wear a mask while talking". I think we may be overexaggerating the denial of essential services and death of communication just because someone said "Huh? Can you repeat that" to you during the last year. Billions of people figured out how to talk, work, and shop while masked. I think we can do it.

i am getting really sick of people using asthma as an excuse to not wear a mask. i have asthma. having asthma does not effect your regular breathing unless you have an attack, and wearing a mask does not trigger one of those, or effect your breathing either. asthma is a bs excuse.

Considering i have to wear my mask for 12 hours i do pull mine down to sneeze but I walk away from everyone and sneeze into my elbow. I'll slather my arm with hand sanitizer after though.

Now if the sneeze is sudden fuck it I'll keep my mask up.

i accidentally sneezed inside my mask last October at a garden center with my fianc. It was real gross so I took my mask off and waited in the car until she was done
