This topic reminds me of a short story I read once where people gained the ability to send information back in time and so every person kept a diary of sorts that they'd send back to their past self from 20 years ago or whatever. and so everyone knew everything that would happen in their life before it happened

it had a twist sort of thing though in that actually the world in the future was super messed up and their future selves were just lying to their past selves and constantly omitting things from hte diary. and they couldn't NOT omit things because they already had all the diary entries memorized word for word with what they'd been sent in their past
