In a few weeks I will get him a companion, just want to make sure that the virus is gone before putting another rat at risk. Ever since surviving this virus, he's become incredibly cuddly. I think he and I both know how lucky we are.

Also he gained a ton of weight after getting over the pneumonia. But he's not fat.

what virus did he have? and sorry about any others that didn't make it. rats are good pets. way better than guinea pigs or those nasty ass fingerbiting hamsters

We don't know, we got a third rat but it brought some kind of easily transmissible infectious disease home with it. Got the other two rats infected, and all died except for the original first rat I bought, who survived with minimal damage.

But yeah, they are so much better than any of the other rodents. I just wish they lived longer.

I used to laugh when people told me they're basically pocket dogs, but they really are.
