The metric system is nice, pity we don't just use that.

My shoes say 10 on them. My weight is 12.7 stone. I'm 6ft1, or 186cms, depending on whichever person I'm talking to.

Our pints are different to your pints. I read American food recipes and take a mental note that your cups are different from our cups.

And want to know what temperature my oven is at right now? 2. Yep. Just two.

Absolutely bonkers country

Meanwhile in Ireland: you're expected to use both stone and kilo for weight. Feet and metres for height. As for distance? Feet, metres, yard, kilometers and more

I don't think metric is bad, it sure has it's uses, I just don't think it's inherently better than imperial just because things are divisible by ten.
maybe I don't always want to divide by ten...?
you ever think about that?

The main flaw of the metric system in everyday society is that decimeters (an equivalent of feet) are not used as a common measurement. Human height is a great example where meters are too long and centimeters are too short, so decimeters would be perfect to measure it... but no one actually uses them.

Also Fahrenheit > Celsius. Celsius is not easy to convert like other metric units because there is nothing to convert to... For measuring common outdoor temperatures in most of the world (approx 0 to 100 degrees F), Fahrenheit has 101 integers to do this while Celsius only has about half of that. It would be great if someone invented a temperature scale that was designed to measure outdoor temperature, but Fahrenheit is closer to that than Celsius is.

Literally every other country in the world uses Celcius for everyday temperature. Only America uses Fahrenheit.

But 0 to 100 is a better scale than -18 to 38

I'm not saying Fahrenheit is perfect, it's just better than Celsius.
