that's true, but i think the videos are a net positive in terms of helping spread awareness, both of how little effort nintendo is putting in as well as making more people aware of emulation as an option

Uncharacteristically for Nintendo, they actually patched in true GameCube controller support and fixed Sunshine's emulation glitches.

I was surprised too, but a streamer I sometimes watch said she got a code for it. And she's not even a huge streamer, gets about 5k views per stream.

You can bash a concept and shitty business practice and still buy the game anyway because you don't want to permanently miss out on it

Not mutually exclusive

By buying the game you are supporting them. It's like if before and after the election you're telling everyone that Republicans will ruin everything, but come election day you vote Republican anyway. You can say you're "spreading the word" all you want, but you are literally going against your own interest by buying it.
Especially the "it's a shitty port" crowd and the "emulation is better" crowd. If you're in the "it shouldn't be limited-time" crowd, whatever, but the previous 2 have no defense for buying it, unless they don't actually believe their arguments.

Oh, for sure, don't get me wrong. She's successful enough that she makes a living off of it, but I don't know that I'd qualify her as a huge streamer. Most people aren't going to recognize SquidGaming/Lydia if you just mention her name.
