The monk guy was such a fantastic addition to the franchise. The idea of force sensitive people that aren't formally trained as Jedi or sith really could have used expanding. It's a shame that concept ended up in a largely forgettable filler movie.

Ive been told its the least Star Warsy Star Wars movie and yet its also my favorite of a franchise I find to be pretty shitty as a whole.

That's a weird way to look at it. It's definitely Star Wars in every sense of the word, it just has very little to do with Jedi and the Skywalker family. It's fair to say that it's different from the mainline movies, but it's very, very Star Wars-y.

Literally nothing worthwhile happens before the final battle and none of the characters are developed enough for me to care if they get shot in the face. It doesn't help when you know how the movie ends from the start.
