i got gigabit speed at my place but cant run a 100 ft cable atm, i was thinking of getting these wifi mesh devices to extend signal to the dead spots in my house

I noticed some mesh wifi devices have an ethernet port, how much speed would I lose generally if i go wired on one of these mesh devices?

I know on proper APs it works fine (I.e. ubiquity gear or more expensive enterprise equipment)

I bought some cheap DVR system where the cameras were supposed to mesh and it was complete trash. Dont go with cheap shit if you want it to work properly

If your modem can output wifi 6 and you have wifi 6 mesh, you shouldn't lose much speed if you connect your pc via ethernet to one of the mesh stations. But if you connect via wireless, it also depends on your pc's wireless adapters capabilities.

I have a couple ubiquity APs and they work wonderfully. They're wireless uplink/mesh feature works great. I don't have any multi hops setup so not sure how much loss work happen there.

Just googled it. Apparently every hop reduces your bandwidth by half.

i think that xfinity xb7 modem can output wifi 6 iirc

So i should generally be fine if i stick one of these in my room, then wire it to that?
