You got the usual stuff like abandoned schools, abandoned gyms, etc. What is really crazy is the abandoned police station where they just left all the evidence, including police files and evidence from rape cases, homicide cases, etc.

But that's not even the craziest shit. There was an abandoned funeral home where bodies and bodily fluids weren't being properly disposed of or stored. Bodies that were supposed to be buried were cremated instead. When they finally discovered what was going on, there were 11 mummified/decomposing baby bodies found hidden in the ceiling.

Blight is a serious problem in the city. If they just tore down all the damaged abandoned buildings it would look much better.

It nice to see some of those old precincts open back up though. There was a serious cop shortage in the city for a long time.

They're working on that, actually. Mainly in the areas surrounding downtown, though. There's actually quite a bit of gentrification going on in those areas.

I often wonder if we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing.

I saw the new housing for the quicken loans people a few years ago, and all those old apartments from the 20s near Penabscot being torn town to be remodeled or replaced. I also hear they are finally doing something with the train station after 30 years of himming and hawing.

Its kinda nice that they are finally getting rid of that shit and putting in modern housing units for people who work downtown. Now if only they would tear down the old packard and stamping plants.
