Overall I see the appeal for sure. The rush of beating Old King Allant after 3 hours of bashing my head against it was definitely a bigger rush in gaming than I normally get.

I am not the biggest fan of world tendency. It is not well explained and for those who don't understand it is super punishing. Basically will make the game harder for people who are already struggling. I know the attitude is "Git Gud" but it is hard to with ill-defined rules.

Story is neat and I like you can be as involved as you want. You can look for story or just go kill shit.

I don't believe it is so hard as to require an easy mode. Without research I found places I could farm for souls and restorative items. I wish the game would keep track of where collectible items could be found. Towards end game I was upgrading my winged spear and Purple Flame Shield and I had to look up where to find those items. Would be nice to have it in a menu somewhere or even mentioned by NPC's.

If you like this game, you should most certainly try out the others because Demon Souls is probably in the middle of the bunch in terms of overall greatness. And in a historical lens, it serves as only a template for the following games.

I've dabbled in all of his games except Dark Souls 2. Most of the time I get like 5 bosses in and then something I really wanted to play gets released and I move on.

World tendency is still kind of a weird concept. I dont think any other From Soft Souls-like game has any mechanics like it. You basically have to follow a guide if you want to take advantage of it efficiently.

Ive always wanted something like a modern Majoras Mask without laying money down for a Switch and found Bloodborne lol

Just wish they had puzzles of what would be the equivalent of having a hookshot to get across but I mean it is what it is

I get the idea it fosters repeat plays, but again only if you understand how it works.
