Die Another Day is the weakest Brosnan film, what is this topic? TWINE is at least more memorable than Tomorrow Never Dies. I think TWINE is a fine movie, just has a bad Bond girl ("I thought Christmas only came once a year?", barf). It has a zany villain with a weird quirk and some cool gadgets. The caviar factory set piece is awesome. As spikethedevil said, I think it's very underrated.

I actually think Tomorrow Never Dies has grown in relevance. A media mogul that is manufacturing terrorist attacks to drive up viewership and become a monopoly? That sounds quite salient in 2021. Just, when people talk about Brosnan TND is almost never ever brought up. It is "Goldeneye is awesome, Die Another Day sucks! TWINE is bad!" and then everyone forgets TND. I think both TWINE and TND get more dislike than they deserve. Die Another Day is the only one that is just actively bad throughout.

probably the most forgettable Bond film but not necessarily the worst

I chalk it up to the movie just coming right out and saying who the villain is. no social meeting, no tension.
oh and he get some tube shot in his gut at the end and I don't know what all that was about.
oh and the girl is a villain too? well that happens in every Bond movie anyway. that it was a "twist" wasn't too surprising.

I didn't mind Denise Richards. she was fun. you need to make atomic science fun I guess.

It's got two really strong villains, a pretty intruiging plot and very good action sequences on one hand, and a pretty bad bond girl and an underwhelming final act on the other hand. I honestly think it's about equal or better than Tomorrow Never Dies, which is another similarly very mixed-bag movie, and definitely better than Die Another Day (duh).

Also maybe an unpopular opinion but I think it has the best opening theme of any of the Brosnan movies

I never got the love, goldeneye and perfect dark were much better.

EA getting bond was the beginning of my hatred for them. Nice to know I was right all those years ago.

The multiplayer was better than Goldeneye at least. Includes bots and some real fun levels and weapons. It is the closest Bond ever got to being like Goldeneye. TWINE and Nightfire.

Was also cool to see the first female main villain since (arguably) Rosa Klebb.

Elekatra's death wasn't exactly spectacular but it was brutal and pretty interesting. The back half of TWINE is kind of mediocre and unspectacular, especially coming off of the ridiculous excess of TND, but I do sort of have a soft spot for how grounded it is.

The more I watch Bond the more I realize how flawed Brosnan's role is. I still like him, but he's the most action-star version of the character despite what people like to say about Craig.
