Insecurity is marked by a love/hate relationship with external forces.

For the insecure person, he/she needs, wants and hopes for validation of others. He/she is raised up by compliments and often asks for them.

On the other hand, insecure persons HATE external forces when they feel they are 'mistreated'. Now, the same sources of self-esteem fuel are now damaging to their psyche.

It's a sad dichotomy. Trump is this.

They are nice, though.

New balance is a lame brand, yes

New Balance is underrated in the respect to the materials you get for the money. I have a pair of 990v4's and the 1080 Numeric (though this might go soon). I also had a 990v5. Reason why my selection is so limited and outrageously dwarfed by Nike boils down to two things fit and sentiment.

I do find distaste in how Nike pumps their retro prices and generally tries to pass things as "premium" when they're pushing a lot of plastics and synthetics whereas a brand like New Balance is on top of the pig skin leathers and US-manufactured offerings. But New Balance doesn't have those ties to my childhood or inspirational sports figures. Nike inserted themselves into the right places for many people. That in turn flips into praise because quite frankly, we'd all like to have that kind of successful business. Labor practices remain the big question mark, but they're not alone in being guilty.

So that being said, someone vested into New Balance has good taste imo. It's just not for me. But if someone who doesn't get into sneakers wanted a recommendation for everyday wear, I'd be recommending a New Balance pair for their money's worth. The material and comfort is more justifiable than me making a hollow pitch about the coolness of a Nike sneaker.

New Balance is actually a pretty hype brand right now. Of course not every model, but that goes for every brand. You got the 992, 993, 550, 997, 327, etc. and they been doing some dope collabs.
