I just found out that Reddit is not blocked on my work's Wi-Fi. So now I've fallen down that rabbit hole, but there's a lot of questionable content on that site. Even if it's something harmless like YouTube or Wikipedia, there's still a lot of weird stuff that I wouldn't want to get fired for. Do they actually track and record what sites you visit on their internet, and they'll know if you visit questionable sites?

Yes. Try not to visit anything too weird on the work comp. In the early early days of the net like 25 years ago we had a guy fired for visiting porn sites. This was before they started filtering certain websites. Nowadays you could probably make the argument it wasnt blocked so it must be safe but i wouldnt chance it.

People ask me this all the time. The answer is yes, but only if we're looking for it. I mean if it's some seriously illegal shit .....probably busted right away... but reddit? nah.

Just the wifi?
You can use a vpn usually and just scramble whatever can ID your device each time you connect

But unless you're literally doing something illegal or we're told to look we don' care

Yes.

Never ever do anything illegal or super wierd on a work computer unless you are the highest authority in the company or who could reasonably have access(and even then....)

So yeah don't watch your Giantess incest furry vore porn, hire a hitman, order pizza with pineapples on it or bitch about your boss using a work computer

Yes they definitely can, I was in IT for many years.

But Id say 99% of the time no one will bother looking into it unless they suspect you of doing something terrible, or MAYBE just that youre wasting a lot of time. Not likely, though.

lul, this does remind me of a story a relative told.

Apparently someone was using a work laptop at work to look up "little people" porn, and the IT guy/manager straight up said it in front of all the employees. "Yeah, we can see it"
