Manga In therms of world building and lore. It doesnt feel as forced like how he introduce the later villain the bleach series thats not a hollow. He got so much flak for formulaic repetitive story arcs but you cant rely deny his talents and craftmanship when it comes to creating manga.

I don't think Bleach was ever meant to be as long as it was. Not even half as long. You can tell he got stretched thin when he had to keep writing it.

Too bad for him, the publisher really wanted to milk the cow so hard till its dry.

nope, that was the actual quote and i'm still annoyed at how little sense it made

EDIT ok i looked up a translation of the manga and it says that it used to be 72% which makes way more sense

Bleach felt like a slog around the second arc. It went from monster of the week to something a little slow. It was okay until it became nonsensical. I liked Aizen until towards the end and then I didn't. Plus, he was terrible with art that wasn't about his characters and only because he was so stylish. His worlds looked empty and even some of the side characters all had similar looks that it was hard to tell who was who in the manga.

The anime made it easier. I liked a few of the characters but some were just one offs that were getting too much attention like Kenpachi.

I never finished the series and stopped right after Ichigo fought Aizen and then it felt like there was nowhere to go after.
