How long will it be before everyone has to adapt to certain new incredible standards that are set for anyone trying to get a job?

How long do you think it'll be until then? I say maybe 10 years or a little over 10..

For a good job yes, for shitty jobs no, unless you live some where incredibly competitive like new york or something..

It basically is. Most job applications are a waste of time, if you don't know anyone behind the hiring process. You've literally got a better chance at the lottery, simply because someone HAS to win eventually; no one ever has to get hired.

Automation is going to be way more prevalent very soon and its going to cause a gigantic crisis in manual labor jobs because this country absolutely refuses to create safety nets for workers

it'll keep squeezing and the disparities will keep growing starker but we're already in it to a shocking amount. automation and robots that matches human efficiency is going to come at a high price, though, and there will likely need to be another major arms race like a world war to scale it up to mass affordability. what will bust eventually is this notion that your human worth comes from a job and that everyone will fulfill basic needs through it.

Most of the engineering jobs I see require 10 years experience in some specific field

who are these people going to hire when all the boomers die off and no one has 10 years experience?

It will get to the point where you have to declare loyalty or allegiance to the company, or else "you can't be part of the vision" part of it you will have to forfeit a portion of your paycheck back into the company to "ensure the company is uplifted" don't be greedy they'll warn ya. Capitalism fucked America up big time.

Yeah, this.

Even just trying to get hired at a convenience store around here requires jumping through flaming hoops and praying you're picked over the other applicants.

Kinda this. I'm the Operations Manager for the state for the company I work for, and the CEO emailed me on Friday at 4pm asking if I'd be interested in moving to a National Account Manager role. Haven't applied, asked about it, etc... it's who you know, not what you know

in my experience after you get a niche and stick to it and skill up things get a lot simpler after a few years. I couldn't pay for a job four years ago and each time I go for a new one it gets easier.

Even skilled and creative jobs are being automated.

The only real jobs in the future will be creative solutions science, things like what Pixar did with the snow simulations. But even then AI will be able to handle that in a bit.
