I hang out in a secret online chat with a bunch of alt-right dudes and it's taken me this long to realize just how delicate and melodramatic they are as a bunch.
For example, a WWE star came out as transgender and then it was basically, "Welp, this is a sign of the end of days". It's a constant surveillance for the supposed decay of society and cultural norms which is then interpreted to mean the incoming fall of society. Even worse, covid and Biden winning has been really, really hard on them. I think next time we think about the alt-right, we have to remember that to them, this is really how they view the world. The fear is genuine. Yeah, I have a few in my family (one's a Proud Boy) and they're constantly bedwetting about how the sky is falling.

You know how they always went on about PC culture and snowflakes and SJWs?...yea that was all one giant projection. Theyre the biggest snowflakes of all. Theyre threatened by a gay person having been in the same room they are now in at some point. Its so weird.

Ooh, another case in point.
Today, my secret online group shared a tweet that said, "Rosa Parks should've just started her own bus company". At first, I thought it was meant as a cringe-y joke but then upon further investigation, I learned that this was an unironic and serious comparison between Twitter and current climate of "conservative" censorship with the fight for basic civil liberties. And then I realized, you must be incredibly detached from reality to believe such a thing. These people aren't stupid. In fact, they're quite intelligent.
