Idk how I feel about Luffy unlocking a new form. Maybe if it's a variant of Gear 4. But I feel lije I wouldn't like a Gear 5. I don't have any reason to explain why, it just feels like it'd be bad storytelling. But I mean, regardless, I'll still read and enjoy it.

Luffy still needing to take a time-out after his fat rubber form is pretty sad. Didn't he first debut it against Doffy? Should have that 10-minute limit cut down a bit by now, you'd think. But yeah, I've always wanted to see him awaken his DF like Doffy did and do millions of armor-piercing punches on his foes, so maybe that's still on the table. I mean...we don't seriously want to dwell on fighting each of the 90,000 characters on this island, most of whom no one gives a crap about.

PS: I hope Luffy one-shots Rob Lucci somehow, just for old times' sake.

If there was no drawback to Gear 4, he'd just spam it against everyone. At least it lets Gear 2 and 3 get some action occasionally whenever Luffy isn't all in on a fight.

The drawback of Gear 4 is definitely going to disappear when he introduces the next one. That's how it always is

The issue is that once that happens, Gear 4 will probably stop mattering, also sort of like how Gear 2 and 3 are now.

It kind of sucks that Sanji has turned into a meme character now. The monster trio doesn't feel like it's a thing anymore.

Yeah it would have been pretty neat if he'd been up there, too. But he was always number three, so it's not surprising. Agree that it sucks though

I've actually been wondering about Kaido's fruit -- given that it's a carp fruit, not a dragon fruit, I thought it might be a paramecia rather than a zoan. in which case he might not even have a hybrid form

That would be pretty funny. Usopp definitely needs an arc where he's more in focus. Hopefully we get like 2-3 more arcs, and they shift focus between the crew members so it's like, Luffy and some of the rest getting the spotlight.
