But anyway, this wasnt them tapping on their brake. This was them slamming on it to cut their speed in half. For no reason. Multiple times.

If I was actually tailgating, I would have slammed into their car no problem. But I wasnt tailgating.

Some states have a minimum speed limit for highways (I recall 45 in the 75 zones on the interstate) but otherwise I dont think going a little under it is actually a violation.

If I was actually tailgating, the way they were brake checking, I would have slammed into their car. Thats how severe they were slowing down. I would have had to have perfect brakes and perfect reaction time to not hit them. Since I have neither of those and I didnt hit them, I wasnt tailgating in any way, shape, or form.

Dude. You're first post 100% said you were tailgating. And your closest thing to a rebuttal was "I have bad depth perception i don't know how far I was," but now you're insistent you weren't tailgating.

If them cutting their speed in half had you repeatedly getting that close you were not driving properly.

Things happen on the road dude. You are admitting that if an animal ran out and the road and they had to really slam on the brakes you would've hit them.

So drive better from now on.

You can literally say that about almost any speed above 40. And yes, I would have been able to stop. I wasnt slamming on my brakes like they were. If need be, I could have slammed on my brakes and gotten no where near them, but fuck losing that momentum and wasting gas.

Did you completely miss the part of my post where, immediately afterword, I said (when it's safe to do so of course)?

Obviously there are several situations where you should not pull to the side to let a tailgater pass, but if it IS completely safe to do so, that seems way better than brake-checking to me. I'd rather not have a reckless driver behind me, and don't want to risk dealing with a rear-end collision. Take that as you will.
