Definitely inflated then. No way you took twice the normal amount. I also felt like I had 70-80 hours on Borderlands tops.

It probably counts all the time you spend in menus, booting it up, loading etc. That all probably adds up in the end to be quite a lot, especially if you're in game during the initial install (some games do this, some install outside of being in the actual game application). Or just leave the game running paused as you go do other things.

For example, I have 35 hours on my save file in TLoU 2, but the wrap up says I have 48 (all of this is just one playthrough, I took a long time compared to others for some reason). And in game my Assassin's Creed Odyssey file says 56 hours, but the wrap up says I have 68 hours.

This thing says I played 15 games this year on my PS4, but I can't think of like anything I used it for except Last of Us II, Jackbox, and Fall Guys in 2020.

That a far cry from 68 hours for one playthrough of LoU2 tho. Unless he constantly leaves it running while leaving the house. Maybe, rest mode? I don't use rest mode, but mines not as crazy.

Yeah it's also a good chance rest mode is the culprit. You can have an application running if you put your console to rest mode, and then you leave it there over night until you actually start playing the next day. And then the console counts as you playing the game the entire time including overnight. That adds up to a shit ton of hours lol.

Rest mode doesn't affect it. I pretty much always have a game in rest mode, and then watch HBO Max or something. My numbers seem fine:

1 DEATH STRANDING
61 hours
2 THE LAST OF US PART II
35 hours
3 UNCHARTED 4 A THIEFS END
18 hours

But yeah, keeping a game paused and up on screen will definitely be counted, I doubt Sony can differentiate that.

If you open up another app like HBO Max, doesn't it usually close any other app you have open, like a game? It usually does for me.

I was wondering how I dumped so many hours into this games before realizing that Id frequently pause the games for large stretches while doing other items. Because no way in hell did I play Kakarot or SoR4 that much.

No it doesn't,that's not how it works. My shit is at rest constantly.

Weird how they separate the PS4 and PS5 lists.

My only guess is that Fall Guys doesn't fit into whatever list of genres they had prepared for this, so it doesn't get counted. Looking at the PSN store, Fall Guys' genre is listed as "Unique"

I think it only counts when your in a party for some reason. It didn't count none of my Fall Guys time. Just the time I played Zombie Army with my cousin.

This has to be it! For some reason it says I only have 5 hours of online play, which makes absolutely no sense. But if it only counts when in a party, that would clear it up for sure, since I was not in a party very often the entire year.
