white privilege is such a dumb concept. Does the homeless white guy on the street have white privilege? Compared to a black homeless guy, likely. But obviously being homeless is a major major disadvantage compared to someone who is homed. Thats when my least favorite word...but intersectionality...comes into place. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Does the homeless white guy on the street have white privilege? Not compared to LeBron James, but probably compared to a similar non-white man White privilege is more nuanced than "Every single white person is rich and comfortable compared to every non-white person" --- ... White privilege is not a dumb concept. It does not mean "your life can't be bad if you're white". Unfortunately when it gets used by people like this op-ed writer, it reduces a lot of the credibility around it. But even still, she's not making any kind of "all white people have good lives" point either. That just seems to be a conservative strawman to discredit it

It's a massive privilege to *checks notes* not wear a $10,000 suit (and he'd have also been attacked if he did that). Also the privilege of an elderly person trying to avoid dying during a pandemic.
If people are being judged for what they wear (including minorities), then it's idiots like this article writer doing it. She probably fawns over Michelle Obama wearing haute couture. ... Copied to Clipboard!

This teacher seems to be trying to contrast the importance of the inauguration when it comes to diversity and humanity, and emphasizing the attention it deserves, with bernie sanders memes, and probably feels like the inauguration was overshadowed because of it, resulting in a type of jealousy that is explained away as white privilege.

I think bigots exist. I also think white priviledge is a thing when it comes to politics and how things have trended. Does it apply to the real world? no. All these politicians are priviledged to be serving this great nation and people and unfortunately some of them do not understand who it is they serve.

It's also become part of the real world too because people have made it that. It's always existed in pockets in this country. The people in charge aren't always nice. I don't think that's the democrats stance on it. They are the ones pushing against those agendas. Where they get lost sometimes is in their own greed.
It's honestly beyond that at this point though. The stuff out there is honestly crazy a lot of it. It's a bunch of delusional people running around forcing nonsense on people. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sanders has more humility in his left pinky than Trump does in his whole body. That said they see things very differently and Sanders isn't always right. Trump is the worst thing that could happen to this country though. He's a punching bag. Even the Russians wanted him because he just makes people hate and democrats have no issue guiding that hate. ANd some of it is just absurd.

There's understanding the relations and dynamics behind race, and then there's somehow making race into a personality trait and inserting it into every single situation regardless of relevance. Why people like this do the latter, I'll never understand.

What's crazy is people think white priviledge means people should attack normal white innocent people around there and take advantage of them. It's like giving a free pass to attack people and deprave them because they are white..
Some peopla re jerks out there and it has nothing to do with color. Sometimes it does. Sanders and Trump are both white men but very different. Neither is perfect. It doesn't mean some black dude understands better either. They understand what it means to be black. And even then they might not. ... Copied to Clipboard!
