I think I'm on chapter 14, and none of the boss fights since Majima and Saejima have been any fun.

just beat Kiryu, and I'm tired of the tanky bullshit.

if I hadn't finished the management mini-game, I would have most likely lost since the move you get is a life saver.

I went from not having to use recovery items and first aids to constantly spamming them.

Yeah, you just have to grind near the endgame to make those fights winnable. Also it starts being really helpful to know what elements bosses are weak to.

I liked parts of this game, but beginning with chapter 12, it's a steep decline in quality for the rest of the game, IMO.

overall, I'd give it a 6.5-7/10.

the *heavy spoilers* part of Kasuga and Aoki being born on the same day, being in the locker next to each other is still bothering me...idk if it was even mentioned that Kasuga was even in a locker until the one dude told him late in the game.

I don't mind some contrivances in storytelling, but come on, man.

at least Kasuga's voice actor (English; haven't heard the game in Japanese) gave a great performance when he was trying to appeal to Aoki

I wasn't feeling some of the revelations, but they weren't deal breakers.

for me, a lot of it was with the combat.

like, I can't speak for anyone else, but I didn't think it was fun to have pretty much every boss be this tank even after doing that one tower thing and the Kamurocho sewers.

and there were times where it was just combat after combat after combat.

I haven't played Y6, but I I have played Y0, Y-Y5, and I dunno. there are a lot of connections that feel really forced, but I'm not sure if they're on the scale of two people being born on the same day, kept in lockers next to each other for their own reasons, but they still end up being in each other's lives, and one of them ends up seeing his actual dad (unbeknownst to him) as a father figure, and so on

I did like LaD over every Yakuza other than the first two (originals on PS2), though.
