The substance detected in lab results from the sickened soldiers was ethylene glycol, commonly known as antifreeze, the Army said. Initial reports indicate soldiers consumed this substance, thinking they were drinking an alcoholic beverage, the Army statement added. When the lungs are failing you feel like you're short of breath and can't get enough air. Both can provide a sense of doom..like a legit feeling that you're gonna die. kidney failure and liver failure basically build up toxins in your blood, you'll just feel like shit overall. I've done some reading on moonshine, I'm interested in making it one day. What you worry about is methanol but tbh most people say its really not any significant amount to cause any harm at all, even if you aren't perfect with your methods. Ethylene glycol is just antifreeze. Its not a byproduct of anything in the ethanol process.
