I remember I was at a speech and debate tournament in the 9th grade. Girl I had a massive crush on all year was with me. These things are high stress, so once we're done everyone wants to relax and kick it. We were done waiting for results and she comes up and sits next to me and rests her head on my shoulders. After a few seconds I just stand up and started talking to another dude about something stupid like sports or something.

I was decent looking back then, in decent shape, had decent social skills, could make a group of people laugh, could get along with anyone.

But when it came to girls, I had 0 game and no clue what I was doing. I had no clue how to approach, what to say, anything like that. I learned through experience in college tbh.

I dunno, I didn't have anxiety in any other aspect of my life. Speed and Debate infront of an audience, class presentations, sports, etc. I get adrenaline from that stuff but it helps my performance. But in all of those situations, I'm prepared and trust my preparation. I know what to do.

With girls, I had absolutely no clue.

In 6th grade 2 girls walked uo to me and one said her friend wanted to go out with me

I said "where would we go?"

They nervously laughed and I blurted out "I don't even know you" and walked away and like 3 seconds later I thought "wait.....oh wtf I'm an idiot". I don't remeber ever talking to those girls ever again so I never even found out who thr girl that liked me was. It probably wouldn't have mattered much though. I switched schools for 7th grade and never went back there
