my laptop i use for work is 9 years old now, but amazingly still holds up. its a 2nd or 3rd gen i7 macbook pro with 16gb of ddr3 ram. 600 something nvidia graphics card.

only bad thing is the badly is 9 years old lol. if i dont plug it in, it lasts maybe an hour. in fact, when i leave it unplugged in my bag over the weekend, just sitting around doing nothing drains it from 100 to at least 20%.

Is it true that leaving it in plugged all day is bad? I heard that a lot.

kinda. it wont harm the device because the electronics know to shut off the charging at 100%

however, having it at 100% all the time will shorten the lifespan of the battery because of how packed all those electrons are in there, and the heat they're generating.

i read that charging devices to 70% and then empty again is the best for lifespan.

but unless you're going to be using your phone or laptop 10 years from now, who cares.
