awesome games. i played sould reaver and defiance but never finished them but i wikied the story and they are pretty awesome.

I only have the first one where it is top down, but I couldn't see anything everything was so dark so I never got very far. I remember being pretty upset about it because I remember being impressed by The voice acted item explanations

Only played the demo of Soul Reaver and thought it was great. Never actually played the full game

I love LoK. I grew up on it. Played all five of them all the way many times (I don't acknowledge the game Nosgoth as a canonical entry).
It basically sparked my interest in philosophy. I also really appreciate that it's amazing story didn't rely on a stereotypical good-vs-evil storytelling.

I actually like the first one the most. Bloom Omen had more of a... castlevania, rpg-ish feel to it, like symphony of the night. With Kain you could turn into a bat, a wolf, mist... traversing the world was a lot more fun (yes, a big reason because nosgoth wasn't ruined yet)

I love Raziel, he's one of my favorite characters in gaming, but Soul Reaver 1 wasn't as fun as Blood Omen. It was more of an action adventure game where the puzzles where that gen 5 tedious block pushing variety of puzzles.

Soul Reaver 2 was better in terms of graphics and puzzles compared to 1.

Never bothered playing the last 2, I just youtubed the cutscenes since by that point the fantastic VA is really all I looked forward to in the series.

Reminds me how sad I was when tony jay passed away, whose work I knew before legacy of kain. Since then rene auberjonois has passed away as well, so there really will never be another kain game.
