Also Nintendo is no stranger to remakes/remasters and never was. Super Mario All-Stars. Zelda BS, Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. All released on the Super Famicom, Nintendo's second console.

The Wii and Wii U are literally the only Nintendo consoles with backwards compatibility, and the latter is limited by not supporting Gamecube controllers (the Smash adapter ONLY works for Smash 4).
