Michael McMahon said he intended to pursue the alcohol related charges and will seek to hold the man accountable The charges stemp from a decision by the owners to defy a state ban on indoor food and drink service and declaring his an "autonomous zone" He was first arrested by a plainclothes officer who entered the bar on Dec 1 and ordered food in exchange for a mandatory $40 donation. He was uncooperative and was taken away in handcuffs as supporters jeered They attempted to arrest him again on Dec 6 when he once again reopened and letting people in the back door and when 2 plainclothes came to arrest him he jet out of there like a rabbit as they gave chase. They told him to stop but he kept going and turned on the car dragging the officer.. Presti's lawyer, Mark Fonte said those deputies were WANNABE COPS and said enforcement action at the bar is "what happens when little people get a little power" Gov. Cuomo called Presti and his supporters COWARDS as Mayor De Blasio said he should pay a very very serious consequence for his actions Presti's supporters countered calling it a political ambush and said this verdict is proof that he was totally vindicated with respect to all matters pertaining to the sheriff But Fonte claims the officer DIDN'T break his legs and that the sheriff's office made a total falsehood of that and that it won't go unpunished as his client was the one who SUFFERED financially through lies of the sheriff's department.
