So our company uses O365 and it only holds up to 50GB of data for email storage. This user reached his limit because he kept all his deleted emails in the deleted folder since 2015. He told me he did not know you still had to delete emails in your deleted folder to completely get rid of it. SMH

Told him he needs to clear that shit out every now and then and informed him the trash bin in his desktop also needs to be cleared out too. Users m i rite

I could totally understand someone thinking deleted meant deleted and not just moved to the place where you can actually delete it.

It's not so bad where I work, at least.

Not by default and any GP that auto does it has been turned off because our users also like to use the deleted folder as an archive folder.

I'm on the users side in this case. That's a complete honest and understandable mistake. I would expect the system to eventually auto delete the email from the trashbin.

I had someone chew me out that the deleted items cleared out one day (he probably emptied trash or something) and that we couldn't restore it.

He kept important stuff in his trash. For.... some.... fucking reason.

Naw most of my users appreciate me and my team and genuinely feel bad when we have to fix dumb and simple things for them. There are a few troublesome users but I'm mostly just ranting.

Makes you wonder what stuff he keeps in his actual trash.

This makes me irrationally angry for some reason.

One of the most impractical things to do with emails. I tell my users all the time to make subfolders and store important emails there so they can reference them there if need be but I guess that's too much information and too much work.

I also don't like it when users ask me help for non-technical things or personal things. No we cannot fix your chair, no we cannot sync your personal speakers to the company's PC, no we don't have monitor stands, no we don't have any extra lamps laying around in our office.
