At that point, do you think he would have been elected again? Yes, absolutely. He carried the banner of the United States throughout World War II, and the country would want him to lead it in the postwar years. Very likely. His popularity was immense but there is a slight possibility the populace would grow weary of him after 16 years. It is certainly possible, but I can't say it would be probable.
