Like they genuinely want to be a part of the timber industry.

This reminds me of a joke in Futurama. I think Leela was on Pluto with some people trying to save space penquins. And they decide they need to cull some. And Leela says something like....
Leela: hey..... you guys are enjoying this Nature leader: look.... nobody WANTS to kill countless helpless penguins. But if we have to, we might as well enjoy it ... Copied to Clipboard!
